Meet & Greet Monday: Kylie Woolen

Hey there, it’s another great day at Lytle’s. Today I want to share another little piece of us with you and help you get to know The Staff better, which is why this is called Meet & Greet Monday.

NAME: Kylie Woolen

1. How did you get started in this business?

I worked at a model & talent agency in Santa Rosa, CA doing makeup and simple hairstyles for models who were trying to build up their portfolios.

2. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the students grow from the first day the set foot in the college, to watching them try new things and gain confidence in themselves and their skills. They are almost completely different people when they leave here.

3. What is the farthest distance you have traveled from home?

Hawaii to see my family.

4. What is your favorite TV show?

Right now it’s the NBA playoffs. Otherwise, Vampire Diaries.

5. What 3 items would you take with you to a deserted island?

A blanket to relax on, sunglasses, and a water purifier.

6. Would you rather: read the book or see the movie?

Both, I would rather read the book and then see the movie.

7. Why/how did you become a Cosmetologist?

I was working as a Makeup Artist for a modeling agency locally and when they closed their office here I went to work in the mortgage industry which was so boring compared to my previous job. I had a friend who went to school and got licensed as a Cosmetologist and seeing how happy she was working in the industry really made me think about it. I decided I should do something that makes me happy since we spend most of our time at work. Here I am a licensed Cosmetologist and I love my job.

8. Why/how did you become an educator?

I started working here in the student salon on Wednesday nights as a receptionist and eventually it grew into a full time job in our Admissions/Business Office. Now I get to do all kinds of different things like: Admissions, Financial Aid, Marketing, Makeup Classes, Digital Presence Classes, as well as managing our social media and website.

9. Do you have any hobbies?

I have sooo many hobbies. The two that take up most of my time are working out at the gym and creating YouTube videos. I also enjoy blogging, working on my website, reading: fiction, marketing, and business books, cooking, swimming, painting, and a probably a whole lot of other things that I just can’t remember right this moment.

10. How has beauty changed your life?

Beauty has changed my life because I feel so much more confident about myself. It has allowed me to change my own life and the life of everyone around me.
