It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for the Wall of Fame. The Wall of Fame is our chance to show off our Student of the Week and let you learn a little bit about each amazing student hare at Lytle’s.
This week we honor Heather Harper!!
Hometown: Rohnert Park, CA
Current Hours: 1500
Graduation Date: 7/26/12
1. What made you choose beauty as a career?
I was a Make-up Artist for 5 years and wanted to expand my knowledge in the industry so that I would be more valuable to future employers.
2. How did you decide to enroll at Lytle’s?
Lytle’s had the most to offer. They not only prepare you for the real world , but they also prepare you for state board. It was also alot closer to my house.
3. What is life like outside of school?
Honestly, school is my life right now. It’s a full time job. When I do have free time I take as many make-up jobs as I can get and relax as much as possible.
4. What is your most memorable experience here at Lytle’s?
My most memorable moment would be when everythinh started to “click”. I don’t have just one specific moment, but when people come to me for help or when I can do a service without an Educator’s help. That’s pretty memorable because it shows me that I can do this on my own.
5. How has beauty changed your life?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for a while now but it wasn’t until I started getting into hair that I realized how much I like helping and changing people to look their best.
6. Where do you see yourself after graduation?
I absolutely love cutting hair. To become the best Cutter, I would like to get into a Supercuts hopefully in another area. They give continuing education and that is very important in this indutry.
7. Do you have any advice for anyone thinking about beauty as a career?
Beauty is a constant learning process. Things are always changing. If you’re not 100% dedicated to the industry it won’t be a good fit for you. It takes hard work, dedication, time, and passion.
