Financing & Financial Aid

Lytle’s Beauty College understands that your education is a significant investment and to assist you in achieving your educational goals, we offer Interest-Free financing as well as Financial Aid packages that can include a combination of Grants and Direct Student Loans (for those who qualify).

INTEREST-FREE FINANCING

Lytle’s Redwood Empire Beauty College offers interest-free financing. This allows students to make monthly tuition payments over the course of the program, to be paid in full by graduation.  Payments can be made by credit card through PayPal, check, cashier’s check, or money order.

Direct payments are due on the 1st of each month. Interest will not be charged under this plan; however, there will be a $25.00 late fee for payments that are 10 days past due. Final payment is due 15 days prior to graduation. Payments will not exceed graduation.

Lytle’s Beauty College is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in several federal aid programs to assist you in achieving your career education goals. Additional information may be found at the Federal Student Aid website. In order to qualify for financial assistance, all applicants must complete a FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or by contacting a Financial Aid Representative. Lytle’s Beauty College school code is 013807.

To be eligible for student aid an applicant must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
  • Have a valid Social Security Number (SSN)
  • Comply with Selective Service registration, if required (Males only)
  • Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Be enrolled as a regular student working toward a degree or certificate in an eligible program
  • Not owe a refund on a federal grant or be in default on a federal student loan

Note: Student assistance funds are intended for educational purposes only. All students must meet the eligibility requirements at all times.

Once the FAFSA is complete and received by the Financial Aid Office, we will work with you to create a financial aid package, which may include any of the following:

Federal PELL Grant

The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to undergraduate students to promote access to postsecondary education.

Federal Supplemental Educational Occupational Grant (FSEOG)

The FSEOG grant is available to assist PELL eligible students.

STAFFORD STUDENT LOANS

Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized Student Loans & Parent Plus Loans

Subsidized Loans are preferred because the interest is paid (subsidized) by the federal government while you are enrolled in college. For Unsubsidized Loans, the interest is not subsidized, and you must either pay the interest monthly or you may elect to have it added to your loan principal (“capitalized”).

Admissions Process:

You are invited to join us for a ZOOM Open House. This is a mandatory first step to enrollment and is designed to help you gain insightful information about the beauty industry, as well as Lytle’s Redwood Empire Beauty College.

The Open House begins promptly at 11:00 am via ZOOM on the following dates. Please contact our Admissions Team to attend one of the next Open House dates

Enrollment Requirements

  1. Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age to enroll (you may start the enrollment process prior to turning eighteen).
  2. Applicants must be a citizen of the USA, or an eligible non-citizen and may be required to provide proof of citizenship status.
  3. Submit completed Enrollment Application.
  4. Applicants must have completed high school and provide their official high school transcripts, or have completed the 10th grade and provide a General Education Development Certificate (GED) or an equivalent certificate, or California High School Proficiency Examination Certificate (CHSPE) or provide a state certification of home-school completion. This College does not accept Ability to Benefit.
  5. Submit a 250-Word Essay reflecting your personal and professional history, as well as how this has influenced your decision to join the Cosmetology or Esthetician field.
  6. Have a professional reference complete a Letter of Recommendation form.
  7. Pass the institution’s entrance exam with a score of 75% or higher.

The College determines eligibility through the admissions process and the entrance exam. However, we are a privately owned college, and we reserve the right of limiting enrollment to those who show an aptitude for Cosmetology/Esthetician training. We may reject anyone unable to benefit from, or adapt to the profession.

NOTE: The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology also requires information regarding misdemeanors and felonies. If this applies to you it will be necessary to let an Admissions Representative know and provide a copy of the criminal record. An additional application may need to be completed for the Board of Barbering & Cosmetology. This question may determine your eligibility to take the state exam.

Esthetics

Lytle’s Redwood Empire Beauty College’s dynamic Esthetics Program offers the best education available. Our text book, Standard Esthetics: Fundamentals by Milady, a world leader in beauty and wellness education since 1927, utilizes the very latest research into how learners learn, making the material easily understood.

Training You Will Receive

A zen classroom environment along with a soothing and relaxing Spa Room sets the stage for your educational journey. Our Tuesday through Saturday schedule allows you to receive the state-required 600 hours in 5-6 months of well-designed curriculum.

We teach our students various facial treatments which include massage techniques that clients love. You’ll also learn microdermabrasion and LED light therapy, face and body waxing and makeup application. You’ll receive training in skin analysis, anatomy, physiology, product chemistry and much more.

Once through the primary training, you’ll divide your day between theory and hands-on training. We are proud to offer Dermalogica and Image Professional skin care lines in our student salon/salon spa. Guest speakers are invited in to expose our students to new product lines and the latest technology.

State Board Training

To ensure you are prepared for the State Board exam, you will participate in a mock State Board test given by our on-staff state board specialist. Our pass rates are consistently among the highest in the state, an indication that our students are well prepared.

Where You Can Work

Options for skin care professionals expand daily. Many salons, day spas, skincare centers, hotel/resort spas, health clubs, cruise ship spas, wellness spas, plastic surgeons, and dermatologists now employ Estheticians. As skincare retailing grows, more and more skin care and makeup professionals are  sought out for positions such as sales experts in storefronts and boutiques. Many head to Hollywood or New York to do makeup.

  • What You Will Learn
  • You’ll learn the fundamentals and theory of cutting, coloring, perming/relaxing, styling and finishing hair, skin care, makeup, nail care and nail techniques, as well as customer service, business basics and product knowledge in a zone setting.
  • Students complete seven 6-week mods. You’ll start in Mod 1 (also referred to as primary training) learning all the fundamentals to client services in the student salon. In Mods 2-4 you will spend time in theory, continue building the fundamentals from the previous weeks, provide services to clients, and complete your operations in the student salon.
  • Hands-On Experience
  • You’ll spend plenty of time in our busy Student Salon, where you’ll gain the hands-on experience that ensures confidence. Our students gain the knowledge and skill needed for success using a variety of product lines; such as Redken, Pulp Riot, Malibu, Dermalogica, Image, Gelish, Morgan Taylor, and more. We’ll also train you to achieve superior customer service skills that will help you build and keep a busy clientele.
  • A cosmetology license can lead you in many different directions, providing a wide range of opportunities to practice your passion and expertise from both a business and artistic perspective. Located in Santa Rosa, California, we are a nationally accredited beauty college as well as a Pivot Point Member and Milady Partner College. Pivot Point and Milady have been leaders in beauty education for beauty professionals around the world. From Hair Designers to Estheticians, and to competition stylists and future educators, Pivot Point and Milady educational methods are trusted to provide a solid foundation for success.

Cosmetology

The Cosmetology Program is a 1500-hour (12-14 month) program of technical instruction and practical operations covering all practices of a Cosmetologist.

You’ll learn the fundamentals and theory of cutting, coloring, perming/relaxing, styling and finishing hair. You’ll also learn skincare, makeup, and nail techniques. Additionally, we will teach you about customer service, product knowledge, and salon business basics.

Esthetics

The Esthetics Program is a 600-hour (5-6 months) program of technical instruction and practical operations covering all practices of an Esthetician.

You’ll learn the fundamentals and theory of skin structure, upper body massage, our collection of signature facials, back treatments, microdermabrasion, facial/body waxing, and makeup. We will also teach you about customer service, product knowledge, and salon business basics.
